Miles Friedman was President of the national Association of State Development Agencies for 27 years, and in that time conducted consulting engagements in over thirty states. He specializes in peer-to-peer technical assistance and training and has served as an instructor at the University of North Carolina, Central Washington University, the American Graduate School for International Management and George Mason University. Friedman now owns and operates his own consulting firm, Miles Friedman and Partners, LLC and is a partner in Economic Development Strategies and Technologies, LLC.
During the past 30 years, Friedman has: studied economic development competitiveness for the Virginia Chamber of Commerce; helped reorganize the Prince William County economic development program; chaired the Prince William County Economic Development Council for 11 years; served as consultant to Manassas in drafting an economic development strategy; helped develop federal programs that support local economic and workforce development and economic adjustment to military base realignment; developed manufacturing initiatives for Maryland and the Dakotas which helped small firms gain access to local supply chains; assisted state and local governments with international trade, investment attraction, business finance; using incentives and creating public/private partnerships. Recently, Friedman assisted Washington State in the development of new statewide economic development strategies.
