Chairman
Sam Hill, Ed.D., serves as the Provost for Northern Virginia Community College's Woodbridge Campus. He joined the College in January 2005. As Provost, community involvement and workforce development are two major areas of focus. Hill currently serves as a Board of Director with the Norther Virginia Science Center at Belmont Bay Foundation, Potomac Hospital Board, and Prince William Regional Chamber of Commerce.
Prior to his appointment with NOVA, Hill served as the Vice President of Instruction and Student Services at Kanakakee Community college in Kankakee, Illinois. Hill's educational background includes a doctorate in higher education adminstration from Texas Tech University (Lubbock), master degree in counseling the deaf and eharing impaired from Gallaudet University in Washington, D.C. and a bachelor degree in economics from St. Edward's University in Austin, Texas. He attended elementary and high school in Monrovia, Liberia (West Africa).
Hill is marriied to Lillian, who is also a graduate of Gallaudet University, and Spelman College (Atlanta, GA). They have one daughter, Lisa, who resides in Illinois.
